Robert (Bob) Dorrell oversees Assante's branch network and is responsible for all Assante dealership-related activities in Canada. Bob works with his team to ensure our advisors and branch managers/owners receive excellent service levels and business development guidance as required.
Bob joined Assante in 2000 as Regional Vice-President, Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd., Ontario and was promoted to Vice-President of National Operations Group in 2002. In 2004 he was appointed Senior Vice-President, Distribution Services, Assante Wealth Management (Canada) Ltd., assuming increased responsibilities over his previous position.
Prior to Assante, Bob was Vice-President and General Manager of Global Allocation Financial Group Inc., an independent mutual fund dealership and insurance agency. While at Global Allocation, Bob's role required him to be registered as a trading officer and supervisory officer (Chief Compliance Officer). He was responsible for day to day operations including human resources, compliance, administration, general finance and record-keeping functions. Bob has also held senior management positions in Canada Trust's retail distribution and financial advisory services channels. He was instrumental in the development of Canada Trust's Financial Advice Strategy, and the creation and launch of CT Financial Planning Inc. prior to TD's acquisition of Canada Trust.
Building on a Business Administration education at Sir Sandford Fleming College, Bob Dorrell is a Certified Investment Manager (CIM), and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).
